There was a vibrant atmosphere at the STMicroelectronics Developers Conference yesterday. bdSound showed his solutions to many companies. Audio is a hot topic in this new connected world with a lot of voice-activated appliances and in Silicon Valley everybody is looking for good solutions to enhance the quality of the sound especially in noisy environments. Each time you want to use a vocal command to activate a device you need to help the voice recognition system reducing the noise and the echo in order to get a clear input signal. We used the STM platform with two microphone arrays to run all our algorithms which improve a lot the quality of the communication.
It also happened that we had to improvise a demo at a Starbucks in the outdoor patio without a screen. But bdSound solution rocked! Noise reduction algorithms worked perfectly in spite of wind noise, chat in the background, and loud music.
